Artists

These boys draw pictures 2-3 times a day. They ask for it any chance they get. Theo is getting to be increasingly talented. Many of his drawing these days involve a harpy eagle carrying a monkey through the forest and a birdwatcher, or an underwater scene with fish and a mermaid, or maybe his school and the kindergarten section and the first grade section with his school friends playing. Today's remarkable drawing is a cat. He asked me how to draw a cat, I drew one for him, and then he drew this! Its Myrtle on the carpet.

Franklin's drawings are still very abstract, and many are quite interesting. One evening this week, Theo, as he often does, came over to show me his drawing. He told me about all of this different components in turn. Franklin was listening. A few moments later, Franklin too came to show me what was in HIS drawing, which was a very simple abstract line drawing to my eye. He pointed out all of the different components in HIS drawing; an eagle, a guy, a bug, a ball, a car, etc. What a surprise!
