Cute in his chair

Franklin doesn't dig the bouncy chair nearly as much as his brother did, but he does like to hang out on the table in it while we're eating and be part of the gang. I think he likes to watch us eat too...he's already showing an interest in food other than mom's milk :)

Story time

I love it when Theo shares things he likes with Franklin. Here he is reading him a story.

All bundled up to play outside

Last weekend we had beautiful weather and I enjoyed some time with the boys in the backyard. Theo and I threw rocks in the stream and then shared a picnic on the deck. Franklin hung out and took it all in.

Thanksgiving at Grandpa Steve's

Had a very nice Thanksgiving at Grandpa Steve and Grandma Linda's, with Linda's son Jason his family. Theo's cousins entertained him with pictures of cars on an iPhone. Theo already knows how to advance pictures using a touch screen!

Activity chair action

Franklin so loves to stand, so I thought, why not get out the ol' activity chair and let him give it a try? A pillow in the back and one in the front to help keep him propped up, and presto! Activity chair baby. He likes it when I make him bounce...wait until he learns to do it with his own feet!

Franklin develops his upper body

Franklin has learned to grasp a toy in the last couple of days, the first thing he learned to do while Mommy was at work. Fortunately Daddy showed me again as soon as I got home. Here he is showing off a little tummy time, too.

Theo plays cars and trucks

Theo spends a good deal of his play time "playing cars and trucks" these days, so I thought I'd better record these times for posterity. His favorite games include playing parking lot, lining all the cars up side-by-side, playing build a new road, and playing drive the cars up hills. Along those lines, here he is in one of his car shirts, and in his super awesome working trucks pj's that Grandma Migs got him!

Mommy takes the boys to California

I took Theo and Franklin to California to attend the memorial service for their Great Grandma Sue. Grammy Betsy flew down with us so I didn't have to fly with them myself, thank goodness, and still what an adventure with the two of us! We had a wonderful visit with Great Grandma Migs and got to spend some time with the boys' Great Uncle Tim, Great Aunt Val, and cousin Kathryn and her husband Ryan, along with Grandma Migs's two wonderful daughters and their lovely families. Theo had a blast, and both boys brought bright smiles all around. Highlights included making a pumpkin into a turkey with Grandma Migs and Truman sharing his Hot Wheels collection with Theo! Take note of Theo enjoying some "Grandpa snacks!"

Franklin is 3 months old

At 3 months old, Franklin's little personality is starting to reveal itself. He loves other little people, especially his big brother, and is fascinated by kids and animals. He clearly loves his Daddy very much, and Theo and Mommy too of course. He can hold his whole front of his body up during tummy time, and loves to practice sitting and standing. He always seems pretty pleased with himself when he sits in his bumbo seat. He loves to kick and wiggle his legs in his chair or on his tummy, and I wouldn't be surprised if he started crawling early. He smiles and vocalizes and kicks while I read stories to him and Theo, and seems to especially like Dr. Suess. No teeth yet, but still lots of drool! He is starting to chew on his hands more and more but has yet to really find his thumb. He is a great eater, bottle or boob no matter, but while he has occasionally slept for 5, 6, and even 8 hours in a row once, those are still too rare. He is easy going and for the most part, very easy to take care of...so far anyway! He is starting to enjoy games like Daddy tossing him in the air a bit, and also seems to like to watch Daddy play with Theo just as much. We're so excited to get to know him more and more.
