My guys

Some pictures of my guys.

Theo is teaching Franklin about which end of his toy it stands up on.

Theo Theo Theo

Its been quite a time for this guy. Here he is hammin' it up for me. I can hardly stand it and I just can't get enough.

The big news it that we've finally broken the poop-in-th-potty barrier!

Franklin watching his brother

Franklin's eyes light up so when he watches his brother do just about anything. Nobody makes Franklin laugh as effortlessly as Theo can!

Sweet potato for my sweet potato

Franklin has now eaten rice cereal, sweet potato, peas, and pear. It only took him a couple of days to figure out the whole eat from a spoon thing, and now he eats how we all expected, like a champ!

Frankie's first rice cereal!

Well he didn't take to it quite as readily as we expected but some stayed in his mouth! We all had fun.

Never too cold to blow bubbles and splash rocks!

Theo at 3

Theo has become this incredible boy - no longer a baby or a toddler, but a sparkling, silly, preschool BOY. Quite the change, and another emotional step for us parents watching our baby grow up. Theo continues to have spectacular language skills and is showing off his powers of deduction of late. The other day, I was reading him a newish book, and there is a page showing some of the characters having some snacks. I had told him before I thought it was crackers and dip. Theo pointed to what I thought were scallions sprinkled on top of the dip, and said, "See how there's sprinkles on those? That makes me think they're eating cookies." He saw some puzzles had purchased for party favors in the garage and asked Grandpa, "Are those for me?" and when Grandpa said, he wasn't sure but didn't think so, Theo said, "Maybe they are for my birthday party". Pretty good reasoning for a just barely three-year-old, especially considering it had been months since he'd been to a birthday party with party favors. He has also learned to lie and manipulate, saying things like, "Mommy lets me do that". Little rascal!

Theo is also very loving and sweet and always has been. He has gotten really good at building blocks lately and dearly loves his cars and trucks. He is creative, too; he loves to make up songs, play music and dance, and has become a big fan of rhyming. A couple of weeks ago he made up his first story and told me at bed time. "There once was a monkey with very long arms and he swinged through the trees and he ate fruits and bugs!" He likes to pretend to prepare foods and recently made the "pizza" out of his lunch: it was a piece of bread with oranges, popcorn, nuts and apple. Yum!
