Springtime!

Silliness

Balance Bike

Theo got this awesome new bike called a "balance bike" to help him learn to balance on a real bike, without the challenge of learning to pedal at the same time. Here's a glimpse of the afternoon he first tried it out. He nicknamed it Greenie and said he was racing really fast (he wasn't) but it was very fun how much he enjoyed it (thanks Pop Gene and Grandma Janet!)

Da da da cheerios!

Here's a few shots of Franklin triumphant and quite pleased with himself after discovering that Cheerios make a fine food.

I've also added a short video offering a glimpse into Franklin's latest vocal stylings...it is not the best example, but you get an idea. Franklin is incorporating more and more select syllables into his vocal exercises, most notably da and di, which when put together sound suspiciously like Daddy. He's even said "da" at some particularly appropriate moments. This kid might just bust out with a word or two before he's 1. There's also the requisite amount of general yelling, which is reminiscent for us of Theo's "warlord" era!

Multnomah Falls

As a major tourist attraction, Multnomah Falls of course comes equipped with a snack bar. The next morning when I asked Theo if he thought we should go to some other big waterfalls one day. He eagerly said yes, and that maybe there would be cookies there!

8 super cute pictures of my 8 month old on April 8

Franklin is a wonderful 8 month old baby. He loves to sit and play and watch his brother. They take baths together and play with the same toys. Franklin can stand up holding on to the coffee table, and is starting to babble distinct sylables like ba and da and di. He loves to be outside and watch the world, especially on a glorious warm sunny day like today. He kept staring towards the sun behind our deck awning today, I think wondering what the heck that bright spot was! This last outdoor shot (with Lucy's tail) seems like a preview of what he will look like when he is older, doesn't it?
He eats without trouble, happily opening his mouth and efficiently consuming whatever mashed selection he is offered. We've introduced cheerios, but he's just not too sure about crunchy things yet. He sleeps through the night 11-12 hours most nights, and wakes up happy, smiling, and kicking with joy for life. He loves to grab at anything he can reach and touch people's faces. He is such an even tempered, mellow, sweet boy, and we all love him so.
